About Lakes, Whyte

North Vancouver, British Columbia is the location of Lakes, Whyte LLP. It's a special community nestled between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean and one that each of the firm's partners is proud to call home. The law firm was established in 1986 as Lakes Straith by John Lakes and James Straith. The focus was on business law, wills & estates, and criminal defence representation. In 2003 John D. Whyte joined the partnership. Since then, Lakes, Whyte has stayed true to its roots and expanded on them, adding a wide array of civil litigation issues and federal criminal prosecution work to its areas of expertise. Today, our experienced lawyers deal with all types of civil and criminal issues and have proven successful at all levels of court in British Columbia.

James Straith left the firm June 30, 2009 to pursue other opportunities and the firm is now named as Lakes, Whyte LLP.

Lakes, Whyte LLP reflects the community it serves. The firm has assembled a group of talented lawyers and staff who are dedicated to solving the problems of people and businesses and wish to make the North Shore a better place to live and practice law. "We deal with life," says Lakes, a past president of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce. "It's drama, real live. We see a lot of North Shore stories unfold for real people. From wills and estates to landslides in Blueridge, we see it all".
