North Vancouver Lawyers > Peter Whyte
Peter Whyte obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 2005 after having spent two and a half years working as a Child Protection Social Worker and another four years as a Forensic Psychiatric Social Worker dealing with mentally ill criminal offenders.

The law degree bolstered an educational background that includes a Master of Social Work Degree from Wilfred Laurier University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Psychology Major, from UBC.

Peter split his articling year between Lakes, Whyte LLP and a downtown criminal defence firm. Since being called to the British Columbia Bar in September 2006, Peter has practiced with Lakes, Whyte in the areas of federal criminal prosecution work, criminal defence, family law, general civil ligitation, personal injury, collections matters, and landlord/tenant law, and has represented his client's interests in both the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia.

Working with Lakes, Whyte is a natural fit for Peter, who grew up in West Vancouver and isn't one to forget his roots. While completing his undergraduate degree, Peter served as president of the UBC Chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity and later also served as president of the fraternity's alumni association. Today, he guides the fraternity on legal issues and assists with career nights.

Away from the office, Peter's interests include tennis, golf and playing the guitar.
